I'm Ken, and I'd rather figure out how to fix something than pay somebody else to do it. Most of what I know came from trying, getting it wrong, and trying again.

This blog is basically my shop notebook. Every project gets written up from start to finish: the tools I used, what it cost, how long it actually took, and the part where things went sideways.

A note on safety

I'll always tell you when a job's past the DIY line. Gas lines, main electrical panels, and anything structural are jobs for a licensed pro. Check your local codes and permit rules before you start.
